I just found this report from Statistics Canada today. Thought people would find it interesting.
The most recent figures show that workers than join a union make 22% more money on average.
The average unionized worker was paid $24.47 an hour while the average nonunion worker earned only $19.89.
Part-time union workers averaged $20.79 but non-union part-timers earned dramatically lower pay of $13.16 hourly.
Most people join a union to get respect and fairness, but better pay isn’t a bad thing either.
